SOS International, LLC (SOSi), Special Programs Division is seeking a Software Engineer to help with ongoing data collection and analysis development projects. Candidates should possess excellent problem-solving skills with a working knowledge of multiple programming languages and storage methodologies. Candidates that are self-starters, have a willingness to learn, and can wear multiple hats are preferred.
 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

• Develop software in the pursuit of solutions to unique data processing challenges
• Preparing deliverables
• Manage check-in / check-out of git version controlled code for multiple data collection platforms
• Work with Operations staff and business leaders to identify requirements and design/develop/deploy new  applications as the need arises
• Support Operations activities, including responding to production incidents and providing direct support to internal customers
• Manage competing priorities while supporting issues and communicating effectively and timely to stakeholders
• Work in a collaborative environment on a variety of projects
• Develop cross browser and cross platform compatible solutions

• Active Secret security clearance 
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field 
• Experience working with automated build/deployment tools 
• Version control with Git 
• Experience using SQL in Linux environment 
• Functional knowledge of Python 3.6+ required 
• Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with executives, business clients, and developers

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Relation database experience 
• Object Oriented programming experience
• Understanding of modern web application development, service oriented architectures, and UI/UX design 
• Experience utilizing JavaScript 
• Functional knowledge of any of the following: Perl, C#, or Powershell 
• Experience in Lucene-based indexing systems
