Job Description

Our Systems Engineering team works closely with our data professionals to deliver applications and integrated systems, and assists clients with architecture design, assessment and optimization, and definition.  We develop service-oriented architecture (SOA) and other integration solutions to enable data fusion and information sharing and management between business partners and disparate processes and systems.

 

Systems Engineering professionals focus on key client issues impacting the core business by maximizing operational value, driving down the cost of quality, and enhancing technology innovation.  Our teams deliver a wide range of services, including application architecture design and optimization, application modernization, business process management and solution integration, custom application design and development, and large-scale technology delivery program efforts.  All of our efforts are designed to allow organizations to better fuse, understand, manipulate, and utilize data.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work integrally with the data team to modify and/or develop systems to allow data interoperability
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that incorporates technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into technical specs
  • Consult with management to ensure agreement on system requirements
  • Expand or modify system to serve new purposes or improve workflow
  • Analyze and study complex system requirements
  • Plan, analyze, and design information systems to solve mission needs and requirements
  • Perform lifecycle systems planning, business information planning, business and analysis
  • Analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities
  • Apply business process improvement practices to re-engineer methodologies and principles and business process modernization projects

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

Level 1

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Math, Science, Engineering or related technical field

Level 2

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Math, Science, Engineering or related technical field with five years of professional experience, or no experience with a Master's Degree

Level 3

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Math, Science, Engineering or related technical field with ten years of professional experience, or three years of experience with a Master's Degree

The following experience must be reflected on the resume:

  • Knowledge of systems engineering of new capabilities
  • Knowledge of capability and requirement derivation
  • Knowledge of use case, system requirements, performance specification development, and UML modeling
  • Knowledge of system interface design & Interface Control Document development
  • Knowledge of Windows Office applications required
  • Ability to exhibit flexibility, initiative, and innovation in dealing with ambiguous, fast-paced situations
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Secret security clearance

 

Desired Education and Experience:

  • Level 1:  Two years of related professional experience
  • Level 2 and 3: Master’s Degree preferred
  • Experience working on intelligence community issues, to include experience working with intelligence community tools and databases
  • Full cycle systems engineering of new capabilities
  • Capability and requirement derivation based on customer needs
  • Use case, system requirements, performance specification development, and UML modeling
  • System interface design & Interface Control Document development
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Experience with analysis tool development using MATLAB, Excel, S-Code, Satellite Toolkit (STK), etc.
  • Experience with operating systems experience with Windows & Unix/Linux
  • Experience with algorithm design and implementation
  • Experience with theory and application of track correlation algorithms
  • Experience with probability theory and optimal state estimation
  • Coding skills a plus (Java, C++, and shell scripts)
