Job Description

Within Western Australia, Sodexo is responsible for the operations, maintenance, and refurbishment of non-process infrastructure to clients within the mining and oil & gas sector. Sodexo plays a critical role in ensuring the resource sector can operate by providing quality catering, hospitality, and facilities maintenance services.

 

We have a position available for a Contract/Commercial Specialist to join our team in a permanent, full-time role based out of our office in Balcatta. This is a unique opportunity for someone to play an integral role within our Project Controls and Commercial team which assist in the delivery of world-class facility management solutions for our clients.

 

The role is focused on deploying, adapting, and implementing Commercial and Contract services for the Sodexo Project Team for multiple clients. Ensuring clients receive maximum value for money by reducing both capital and on-going costs and preventing cost overruns.

Duties:

  • Contribute to defining project scopes, planning, estimating and managing costs and schedule performance
  • Provide support to Clients through the provision of standardised Quantity Surveying and Contract Administration services
  • Provide support in the contract management of deliverable projects
  • Support the Project Works team and develop & communicate formal correspondence to operations and the client, inclusive of all key stakeholders in a pro-active and planned manner.
  • Ensure that quantity surveying, contract administration and commercial duties are fulfilled.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender packages and resultant contract negotiation.
  • Manage and take ownership of the upstream and downstream contract variations and commercial claims process.
  • Support and participate in the preparation of weekly, monthly and annual performance reports as required. Make process improvements and assist in their implementation.
  • Assist with End of Month accounts ensuring billing is within allocated budgets and agreed variations for the contract.
  • Support the governance and risk management aspects of the Projects Works projects, to ensure that projects are governed correctly and that risk (and opportunity) is suitably tracked and managed.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience of Tender and contract administration deliverables across multiple sites
  • High level of financial acumen with strong P&L performance delivery
  • Strong tender/quote/bid preparation and submission knowledge
  • Understanding of accounting practices and bookkeeping procedures.
  • Demonstrable understanding of contracts.
  • Strong work ethics and an understanding of corporate requirements and processes
  • Strong professional business acumen to ensure all client relationship improvement initiatives are professionally defined measured, implemented, and controlled
  • High level of business case presentation and communication skills with the ability to professionally negotiate and achieve positive client relationship outcomes
  • Knowledge or experience in contract administration and Contract Management
  • Demonstrable and proven safety behavior.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrable good analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with high level of accuracy.
  • Demonstrable exceptional organisational and time management skills.
  • Quantity Surveying experience/knowledge is highly desirable
