Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer with a specialty focus and experience in the complete lifecycle asset management of water and wastewater infrastructure to support one of our long-standing clients. Based at our Brisbane Support Office, this is a key role within our established Facilities Management Team and will require travel to site.

About the role

As a Critical Asset Engineer you will have an active role reviewing the asset maintenance management of our water and wastewater infrastructures including costing the lifecycle maintenance and asset replacement to ensure we meet budget. In addition, you may need to design and implement changes or provide guidance on current and new projects.  We operate under various Environmental Approvals across numerous sites; you will be responsible to ensure compliance across our WTF and STP on the project and work on solving water management problems within your scope.

Report writing, data manipulation, analysis and new scope development are key components of the role. You will contribute to environmental and statutory reporting, provide monthly and quarterly updates to our client, as well as financial forecasts and continuous improvement plans to our client and operation leads. It is expected that you will provide broad technical advice to the greater FM Team and further develop or be able to adequately manage events outside normal parameters

About you

In order to be successful in this role you will meet the below criteria:

  • A thorough understanding and commitment to safety standards and process in mining or oil and gas industries
  • Extensive experience in asset maintenance and management systems
  • 3-5 plus years in water and wastewater infrastructure across the broader industry asset life-cycle stages
  • Ability to prepare, interpret and understand engineering reports and drawings, design principles, bill of quantities, cost estimates and related technical specifications
  • Demonstrated experience complying to different Environmental Approvals in challenging, restrictive or unique environments
  • Abreast with current legislation and demonstrated experience in implementing relevant safety standards
  • Proven experience building relationships with key stakeholders and offering a solutions-based approach
  • Ability to lead small team of maintenance and water/sewage plant operators
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to key decision makers and clients who may not have an engineering background
  • Previous experience using database management application and asset management software – MEX is desirable but not essential
  • Intermediate to advance with MS Office (Word and Excel)
  • Ability to develop, mentor and train staff within your team

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Process, Mechanical or Industrial is preferred)
  • Current and valid Open manual Driver’s License
  • Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) will be highly regarded but not essential
