Background

INCLUDE supports 90,000 smallholder farmers across 10 districts in four sub-regions through sustainable livestock production and inclusive markets. SNV delivers the project with EKN funding from April 2024 to March 2029. The MEL function tracks results against the EKN Result Framework and the FNS IGG indicators and turns field data into learning that shapes delivery.

Purpose of the position

He/she will support the MEL team in collecting, checking and using high-quality data from field activities. Works closely with Local Service Providers (LSPs) and Community-Based Facilitators (CBFs), verifies their records, coaches them on correct methods, and helps the team report accurate results on time.

Job Description

Key responsibilities

  • Data quality. Run scheduled data quality assessments on LogAlto and field records. Check accuracy, completeness, timeliness and consistency, and flag errors, duplicates and missing fields for correction.
  • Field monitoring. Monitor field activities delivered by LSPs and CBFs. Observe sessions, spot-check farmer registration and VLLG records against source documents, and confirm that reported figures match field reality.
  • Reporting. Compile monitoring data into clean datasets and draft inputs for routine, quarterly reports. Prepare simple tables and charts that trace back to source files.
  • Coaching. Coach LSP and CBF teams on data collection tools, mobile data entry and record management. Give practical feedback that improves the quality of what they submit.
  • Data use. Support review meetings, pause-and-reflect sessions and feedback to district teams, so that evidence informs decisions and corrective action.
  • Records. Keep field MEL records, filing, and the data audit trail current and well organised.

  • At least two years of experience in MEL activities within development programmes.
