Under Energy sector, SNV Nepal is implementing “EnDev - Strengthening Market Development of Clean Cooking in the communities of Karnali, Sudurpaschim, and Lumbini Provinces of Nepal” project. This project aims to intensify and upscale electric cooking promotion by providing technical assistance to the local private sectors and other relevant local stakeholders to develop a reliable and sustainable private sector led supply channel for CCS. The project is being implemented in Result Based Financing (RBF) mode and providing further support for demand creation and enabling environment.

SNV Nepal is hiring qualified local staffs (field consultants) Database & Documentation Associate to implement this project.

Job Description

Objective and Tasks

The Objective of this assignment is to support for the market development of electric cooking promotion activities in the selected communities of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces of Nepal. Specifically, tasks will include but not limited to: Work with the local consultants and supports in maintaining database records and maintain hard/soft copies of the CCS distribution records. When necessary, also support field consultants in the field activities.

Qualifications

Required Competence:

  • Excellent skills in MS Excel, able to monitor data quality and consistency, data quality assessments, and prepare periodic reports on project results.
  • Oversee the baseline, midline and end-line data collection, analysis, reporting, and dissemination of lessons learned to the respective stakeholders (with support from SNV’s MEAL Advisor and Project Manager).
  • Support MEaL Advisor on implementation of the project Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEAL) Plan and ensure monitoring and evaluation methodology and data collection systems that are appropriate and practical.
  • Verify the reports and database trials and claims made for the RBF incentives recommended by the Market Development Officers.
  • Basic Computer application: Ms Office, report writing, and presentation.
  • This position might require field visits to the partner Palikas of the programme provinces.

Academic Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field with expertise in computer-based database management.

Work Experience:

  • 2 years plus experience of working in the similar field.
  • Should have experience using of statistical tools, analytical, and report writing skills and knowledge extracting skills.
  • Experience of working in similar role for any clean cooking promotion programme will be an absolute advantage.
  • Ability to work in a team and in a time constraint situation.  
  • Good language skills (oral and written) in English and Nepali
