Under Energy sector, SNV Nepal is implementing “EnDev - Strengthening Market Development of Clean Cooking in the communities of Karnali, Sudurpaschim, and Lumbini Provinces of Nepal” project. This project aims to intensify and upscale electric cooking promotion by providing technical assistance to the local private sectors and other relevant local stakeholders to develop a reliable and sustainable private sector led supply channel for CCS. The project is being implemented in Result Based Financing (RBF) mode and providing further support for demand creation and enabling environment.

SNV Nepal is hiring qualified local staffs (field consultants) Clean Cooking Cluster Coordinator to implement this project.

Objective and Tasks

The Objective of this assignment is to support for the market development of electric cooking promotion activities in the selected communities of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces of Nepal by coordinating with the respective field consultants. Specifically, tasks will include but not limited to: Work with the partner Rural/Municipalities and stakeholder for the promotion of electric cooking appliances.

The cluster coordinator will be responsible implementing Market Development of Electric Cooking in Nepal project through clean cooking solutions engaging the local consultants and with support from Advisor and Project Leader. S/He acts as team member of the technical experts for designing the contextual plan for promotion of e-cooking for the selected communities from programme provinces and provide support to the local private sectors for creating an enabling environment for them to operate in, to run business and to make investments feasible. On the demand side, the coordinator develops pragmatic BCC interventions for awareness raising and demand creation on electric cooking adoption.

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical field (Engineering) and minimum of 4 years of experience in project implementation in relevant topics such as energy, environment, or climate change related projects.
• Demonstrates analytical skills and ability to detect problems, recognise vital information and link various data to trace causes of issues and look for relevant details.
• Encourages and guides field consultants to make their performance more effective and to enhance their self-perception and problem-solving skills. Ensure the field plan of consultant as planned and review the monthly time-sheet reports to ensure the target deliverables for the period are met. Experience in managing a team is desirable for this role.
• Sets high quality standards and strives for continuous improvement and quality assurance.
• Ability to communicate in clear language and to adjust one’s use of language to the audience’s level, making sure ideas and essence are understood by the audience.
• Prepare BCC materials CCS promotion relevant to the local events, establish a good coordination with local public institution (Palika) and CBOs like CFUG.
• Supports in the learning and business skill development of local retailers, help LMD to expand their business area and prepare plan for building their capacity to support to extended after-sales services
