Job Description
We are currently looking for a: Gender Equality and Social Inclusion – Mainstreaming and design consultant/Fixed term.
- Consultancy (initially on a 6-months contract basis)

Your role
As the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Consultant/Advisor you will support SNVs Global Lead for GESI to roll-out of SNVs newly developed 7 pathways to impact across our organisation, programmes and partnerships.
Key Job Responsibilities
In 2024, SNV launched our refreshed GESI approach which builds on our expertise in across countries on collaborating with local actors for more equitable sector outcomes. We are looking for a consultant to work with our Global Lead (GL) GESI, to support a substantial workplan to develop organisational wide resources for the new ‘7 pathways to Impact’.
- Lead development of qualitative and quantitative data collection tools working with the MEAL team including pilot of tools and feedback on use. Draft a guide and online training content for roll-out of tools.
- Based on SNV experience, support (GL) to develop a organisational wide GESI due diligence assessment for (i) partner and (ii) service providers and process for development of KPIs, monitoring, safeguarding approach and continuous improvement for GESI responsive services.
- Support global level learning processes for development of ‘building block’ knowledge and learning briefs, tools, online seminars. Current topics – inclusive business, men and masculinities, designing empowering projects. Take lead on designing training for empowering projects based on new conceptual Inclusive Empowerment framework.
- Support (GL) on refinement and finalisation of GESI marker for project design.
- Support (GL) development of country specific KPIs for GESI linked to Sectors/Themes portfolio reviews.
- Inputs into specific initiatives linked to organisational improvements such as GESI responsive procurement and GESI responsive recruitment.
- End of year progress report on year 1 of SNVs GESI Pathways to Impact.
Qualifications
- Relevant degree in development, gender, or social science (or relevant professional experience).
- At least 5 years’ experience working on GESI mainstreaming or women’s economic empowerment in the development sector.
- Experience developing inclusive partnerships.
- Experience of organisational mainstreaming and/or developing GESI responsive policies, due diligence.
- Extensive experience in designing programmes using empowerment conceptual frameworks.
- In-depth knowledge/experience of measuring change relating to empowerment conceptual frameworks i.e decision-making, influence, access to incomes, meaningful participation in governance processes.
- Experience of working in one or more countries where SNV works.
