Context and purpose of the job

The Finance Administrator (FA) works within the Finance Unit, either globally or within an SNV Country finance Office of operations and projects as needed.

They collect, register, process, and report financial data and transactions as assigned by the Line Manager, following administrative procedures and using relevant systems. This ensures accurate, complete, and timely administration and transactions, providing reliable insights through reports.

Job Description

  • Support PFO with financial transactions and act as Bookkeeper for specific projects.
  • Assist PFO with financial transactions and act as Bookkeeper for OVH (finance/admin and operations).
  • Prepare payment vouchers and file them appropriately.
  • Handle overall project logistics, guest arrangements, and filing.
  • Manage overall project logistics, guest arrangements, and filing for OVH (finance/admin and operations).
  • Verify support documents for disbursements/settlements and input them into the system.
  • Scan support documents, upload them into the system, and process/filing.
  • Assist PFO/PA with overall logistics and ensure proper procurement processes.
  • Assist with project logistics and prepare payments via bank vouchers/checks.
  • Assist Project Managers in data collection and analysis.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by line manager/CFM

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent vocational experience. At least 3 years of experience in financial accounting, administration, logistics, procurement, etc.Interest in private sector development and in the fight against poverty and inequality.
  • Work systematically and in an organized manner, finding a balance between efficiency and accuracy. Initiative and creativity in solving problems
  • Capacity to set down to work in carrying out daily activities, accurately, carefully and painstakingly.
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and with the team
  • Listen attentively and openly to others, being receptive to their arguments, suggestions, and ideas without prejudice. High degree of initiative, flexibility, reliability, discretion, and willingness to learn
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English
  • Solid computer skills in MS-applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Internet, etc.)
  • Knowledge of SAP by Design and Sharepoint is an added advantage
