Job Description

In this role you are responsible for SNV’s Global Talent strategy in close collaboration with the Global People Team.

The People function within SNV is embarking on a journey based on the new people strategy (March 2023) in line with the organisational 2030 strategy. To become fit for purpose, the Global People Team is making some changes in its structure to further ways of working and to implement the new People strategy. The Global team focusses on five big themes which are Talent Attraction, develop leaders and invest in culture, Manage and develop SNV talents and skills, Reward, and recognize employees and Security, safety & inclusion and well-being of team members. The team is led by the Global Head of People and consists of in total 14 global HR professionals and 20 local HR advisors.

Your Role
The aim of the Talent & development advisor role is to develop, manage and coordinate the talent strategy and the required learning culture that accompanies it. This role focusses mostly on the part of the people strategy around developing leadership and culture as well as developing our talents and skills across SNV countries. This is a stand-alone role within the Global people team; your aim is to connect closely with the global HRBP’s as well as local HR, line management and sector teams to develop the optimal talent and learning framework that supports SNV’s mission and strategy.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Translate the HR vision and strategy into a global talent and learning strategy and roadmap for implementation
  • Further develop, design, and implement a talent Management framework that supports SNV mission and strategy to deliver impact that matters.
  • Proactively lead change in respect to talent Management practice and/or processes
  • Thought leadership on talent and learning frameworks and applications, translated to SNV practice and maturity.
  • Manage and maintain SNV global onboarding program and processes
  • Establish workforce analytics to identify and analyse operational challenges related to workforce development and engagement
  • Provide hands-on support to line management, HRBP and local HR on skills development and learning practice.  
  • Develop, maintain, and oversee vendor relationships on learning, content development, delivery, and e-technology
  • Manage and assist with the development and delivery of a training and/or development curriculum and individual requests

Qualifications

and required Background

This role is requires both a design and an implementation skillset. You have the ability to both create the framework and deliver processes and operation. Next to your expertise in Talent and Development, you have also an interest and experience in broader HR change projects. Since this is a new role, it impacts our team members on different levels across the organisation; you are experienced in navigating change and you ensure that all teams adopt the new policies and processes. You are eager to learn and you have an inclusive mindset and way of working. You are self-starting, yet you like to connect to others and work together in the Global People team.

Further you recognize yourself in the following:

  • Relevant master in e.g. HRM or Business Psychology, Organizational Development
  • Proven and considerable experience with Talent Management processes and projects, in international environment, preferably in the not-for-profit sector
  • Demonstrated knowledge of learning methodologies and philosophies with strong program management experience
  • Successful record of implementing new processes and projects, with impactful results on the organisation
  • Highly collaborative in working with colleagues and vendors from other cultures and countries
  • You demonstrate self awareness, have a positive attitude and build trust easily
  • You have an inclusive mindset and you understand cultural differences and how they impact leadership practice and language, you have good consulting skills
  • You are an excellent communicator in English, preferably also French
  • Strong facility in Microsoft Office, including ability to manipulate data in Excel and create executive level presentations

Additional Information

Contract Type: National contract, one year with possibility of extension based on performance
Duty station: The Hague 
Expected Start Date: 1st of May 2023
