The driver will be assigned duties on a need basis depending on field activities and will be based at any of the SNV Zambia field offices in Kabwe, Chipata, Choma, Mpulungu and Kasama.
Job Description
- Provide casual drivers or offer services of casual and incidental drivers as listed below.
- Drive SNV vehicles for the transport of authorized staff, consultants, partners or persons.
- Being responsible for undertaking extensive field travel in the SNV area of work and others as duty may require, ensuring safety of passengers on board.
- Collect and deliver mails, documents, and other items.
- Follow all rules and regulations in relation to the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA).
- Ensure that all vehicles comply with SNV’s standard operating procedures as stipulated in the operations manual.
- Maintaining the proper functioning of SNV vehicles.
- Checking validity of statutory legal documents in the car.
- Taking care of the assigned vehicle(s) by carrying out small (mechanical) repairs and which also includes fuelling, cleaning.
- Ensuring that the vehicle is always safely parked, is only used for SNV duties, and ready for any duty assigned
- Keeping an updated work ticket always
- Monitoring vehicle performance and service schedule
- Recording mileage of all journeys daily and in the monthly report
- Update/log of fuel consumption, oil changes and greasing
- Any other task that they may be assigned
Qualifications
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Class C Driving Licence
- Minimum of 2 years driving experience
- Experience working in a multi-cultural environment is essential, and an International NGO is an advantage
