Job Description
The Recruiter is appointed within the global HR unit. The global HR unit steers, monitors and supports the organisations HR management, to ensure organisation and country are compliant to SNV policies and procedures, and ensures the organisation is in control of its human resource management.
The Recruiter will collaborate with Global HR Advisors and Business Development Officers on a regular basis and is responsible to meet hiring goals by filling regular and tender vacancies with talented and qualified candidates. Remains up to date on the requirements of the various positions within the organisation. Is the lead and is responsible for the full life cycle of the recruiting process. Provides hands-on recruitment services which entails developing vacancy text, sourcing candidates (headhunt) and screening candidates, coordinating and participating in the interviews, and facilitating offers and employment negotiations, all while ensuring candidates have a pleasant experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead on the recruitment of positions both international and head office positions.
- Build effective relationships and work closely with BD team and HR advisors to understand and identify staffing requirements, team compositions, advising and deciding on the best approach to source best-in-class candidates.
- Actively headhunt and source candidates, draft advertisements if required, prepare Job Descriptions, screen CVs and arrange and conduct interviews.
- Prepare and negotiate remuneration packages with selected candidates in line with budgets, and prepare contract offers.
- Support drafting of CVs, staff profiles and staffing sections of proposals in response to client requirements, working closely with bid managers and prospect teams.
- Advise and contribute to strengthening SNV’s recruitment capability by improving internal recruitment tools, systems and processes.
- Develop and maintain pools for select key positions. Identify & engage with interested talent pipeline who are interested to work for/with SNV.
- Provide effective and efficient support to HR managers in country on SNV recruitment system. Provide guidance and training to global users as required. Ensure the recruitment system maintains SNV standards of recruitment practices and promotes employer branding by monitoring the quality of vacancies and timely communication to applicants.
- In accordance with SNV’s procurement policy establish and manage relationship with various recruitment channels and headhunting agencies including online CV database providers and various recruitment sites (job boards). Ensure our recruitment subscriptions are up to date.
- Ensure HR administration related to recruitment is managed with excellence. Assemble personnel files, organises recruitment activities. Advises Hiring Manager/ Global HR Advisors on bottlenecks in budgets and administrative processes regarding recruitment and selection.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management (or related field)
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in an international recruiting role, having had responsibility for headhunting, interviewing and hiring.
- Working knowledge of various interview techniques and types and applicant screening methods
- Exceptional relations management skills with a track record of developing effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels in a matrixed environment.
- Hands-on experience with recruiting software, as well as Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) or Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS)
- Prioritising of work activities and meeting necessary deadlines, including flexibility with changing priorities and strong multi-tasking abilities
- Familiar with on-line social media recruitment tools and techniques (such as LinkedIn) to source candidates for project proposals
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English and French is required
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, negotiating and decision-making skills.
