Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic and energetic junior professional to join our Global Business Development (BD) team. The team is focused on supporting our global sector teams and country offices to achieve SNV's business development targets to support the implementation of SNV’s Strategic Plan 2019-2022. The position will report to the BD Coordinator, and we are looking for someone who will thrive in a fast paced, competitive environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor SNV’s internal ticketing system (BDHub) under supervision of the BD Coordinator. Respond to general queries and disseminates tickets to relevant colleagues as instructed. Flag or escalates issues to the BD Coordinator or relevant BD staff. Monitor follow-up of the outstanding queries.
  • Track selected donor websites matching to SNV’s profile, products and tracking guidelines and shares procurement information or notices with the BD Coordinator and Market Development Managers. Respond to general queries from global sector teams and country offices.
  • Administer Salesforce, SNV’s BD pipeline management system, checking information entered on the system is accurate and up-to-date, identifying and flagging issues to the BD Coordinator and relevant BD staff.
  • Regularly run monthly/quarterly reports from Salesforce, to monitor, analyse and improve data quality. Provide web-based Salesforce user training for new staff.
  • Support prospect coordinators (bid managers) including preparing project references, collecting CVs, pulling together administrative/legal documents and supporting final submission (compilation, printing and binding) of proposals.
  • Contribute to internal BD improvement projects, working in teams, developing processes and templates, and helping to organise training/learning workshops if needed.

Qualifications

  • Qualification (degree/post graduate) in international development, international business, or related technical field of expertise.
  • 1-2 years of work experience or exposure ideally in business development and/or in an international non-profit or consultancy firm.
  • Pro-active, independent work approach, with high level of attention to detail and accuracy, and able to support multiple demands and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in French is desired.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint. Analytical capabilities and service-orientation.
  • Comfortable working in virtual teams in an international, multi-cultural setting.
