Wage Information:

$120,000 to $130,000 annually

General Purpose:

A specialist in connected objects, an IoT admin/engineer develops innovative services that help users to receive, control and manage information. They are also in charge of supporting, developing, and managing a vast array of IoT devices, platforms, software, hardware, and systems through a combination of data, technology and research. Managing customer relationships in regard to IoT connected devices. Communicating to internal and external stakeholders.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Researching, creating, testing, and documenting IoT solutions
• Vendor liaison with IoT solution providers
• Advocating and collaborating with internal and external resources on capabilities of technologies across the IoT ecosystem
• Working with business partners (marketing, engineering, IT) to design, integrate and test features of IoT functionalities
• Tracking and resolving IoT connectivity issues through the networks and platforms utilized in IoT
• Analyzing of data collected
• Working with end customers to register device as well as troubleshooting devices already installed

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• IoT specific network experience
• In-depth understanding of computer programming and network security
• Proficient knowledge of protocols TCP, Modbus over TCP
• Proficient knowledge of PMAC capabilities and ADS
• Experience working with network, cellular protocols
• Familiarity with Microsoft IoT stack
• Familiarity with various IoT gateways
• Well versed in Python and Json data streams
• Well versed in OPCUA, AMQP, MQTT, HTTP
• Experience with Linux based systems
• Familiarity with programmatic languages such as C, .net and/or Java
• Familiarity with aspects of containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, ect)
• Ability to work independently
• Comfortable with ambiguity and fast change and have an ability to adapt quickly and easily
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience in a global company, having multiple remote locations, and diverse stakeholders with different languages and cultures, is highly desirable
• Must be able to travel 30%

Education and/or Training:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a moderately complex environment
