Assist in assessing potential applications of company products and services to meet customer needs and develop detailed cost estimates and technical descriptions for the product specifications.  Provide follow-up support in circulating technical information on specific applications to internal execution team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Communicate effectively with internal team members, customers and vendors to collect all relevant information relating to the application
• Evaluate application and generate system concepts
• Collaborate with Applications engineering and/or purchasing to utilize or develop specifications for system equipment and work with suppliers to obtain costing information for that equipment
• Developing cost estimates based on performance or previous history and customer build specifications
• Writing the technical description or proposal for the solution
• Other tasks and special assigned projects as designated by the Proposal Manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be capable of expressing ideas both verbally and in writing to both the internal team members as well as customers and vendors
• Experience in working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources including upper management, internal/external customer, suppliers/vendors, etc
• Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through an analytical problem solving and common sense approaches
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced, high pressure environment where deadlines are critical
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills including strong listening skills
• Must be self-motivated and enthusiastic

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, etc.) and/or a minimum of five (5) years direct experience in robotic system concept development is preferred
• Microsoft Office, with intermediate to advanced experience in Excel, (Acad, Solidworks,   eDrawings) preferred       
• Familiarity and experience with machine design and building practices including automated machinery and robotics.
• Strong mathematical background and a solid understanding of job costing and associated  spreadsheets
• Overtime possible, and sometimes required
• Customer site visits may be required from time to time
