Job Description

General Purpose:

Professionally manage orders for system level projects in a manner that fulfils the Project Management Department’s objectives, Flow International’s business goals, and customer loyalty.  Work independently with limited guidance from the supervisor.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Fully manage system level projects from the point of booking the order through customer acceptance in accordance with Project Management’s business processes, including ownership for resolution of impediments or constraints.

·         Maintain an appropriate level of knowledge of Flow’s products to ensure quotation and order accuracy, as well as fulfillment of customer expectations.

·         Accurately transact and maintain all sales orders and project data in Flow’s ERP system.

·         Closely coordinate with the Sales Managers on each project to ensure customer commitments are managed appropriately.

·         Develop a positive rapport with customers while setting and meeting their expectations for communication and support throughout the project.

·         Ensure that customers are contacted regularly throughout the project and specifically at each of the key project phases.

·         Coordinate multiple suppliers of system components and services (both internal and external) to meet the project schedules and requirements.

·         Work closely with Legal and Credit to quickly address terms and conditions of sale to expeditious move projects through the order process.

·         Strictly comply with all defined ISO, SOX, and other regulatory and process control requirements.

·         Follow, sustain, and actively maintain Project Management’s documented standard work procedures and promote consistency in how the department’s services are delivered.

·         Seek out, identify, lead and execute on opportunities to improve the department’s efficiency and effectiveness and take responsibility for implementation of solutions.

·         Develop and sustain partnership-level working relationships with key associates in Sales, Technical Services, Marketing, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Legal, Finance, IT, Accounting, and Credit to leverage their contribution to the success of your projects.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·         High level of analytical ability where problems are complex.

·         Demonstrated project management skills and experience with project management software.  Ability to handle large volume of project simultaneously.

·         Excellent and highly professional oral and written communication skills.

·         Ability to work independently on projects.

·         High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.

·         Comprehensive knowledge of company products.

·         Positive attitude, service-oriented, customer-centric.

·         Strong leadership skills and desire to be accountable for results

·         Ability to travel on short notice for periods which may be greater than one week.  Overall travel is anticipated at 10% or less and may include weekends.  Currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid passport. 

Supervisory Responsibility:

None.

Education and/or Training:

·         BS in Engineering or a related field of study.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.  Preference may be given to Mechanical Engineering expertise.

·         Minimum of three (3) years of machine tool/system integration experience or equivalent background; high-pressure waterjet experience a plus.

·         Minimum of three (3) years of Project Management experience or equivalent background; Experience and training with Flow’s products, systems and customers is preferred.

·         Intermediate level of experience with Windows, MS Project, Outlook, Word, and Excel and ERP systems.

·         PMP or other project management certification a plus.
