Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

To provide technical assistance and support for the proper integration, prove out, and installation of Shape Process Automation robotic systems in support of our customer expectations. 

System Technicians will be assigned as part of a team, responsible to ensure that all systems are 100% complete and validated prior to shipment. System Technicians will also be responsible for ensuring proper and complete installation of the system on the customers’ floor and resolution of all open issues until final acceptance by the customer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Check in of robots, manuals, and software.
  • Loading robot software.
  • Verification of options, mounting angles, servo parameters, mastering, setting to zero position for plumbing if required.
  • Assist in the mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic integration of the robot into the assigned system.
  • Proper identification of home positions and TCP hardware locations. Assist in the development of standard locations for these positions among common systems.
  • Set up of calibration or enhancement tools.
  • Assist in troubleshooting of system controls.
  • Repeatability testing of all system motion groups including robots.
  • Verify correct servo parameters are installed in robot.
  • Perform functionality testing of DRS process specific software (Jetware, Routerware, etc….).
  • Perform required test cuts, submit test cut plaques to PM in 8.5” x 11” format.
  • Part programming, if required.
  • Start system loop on a daily basis, once software is completed, until shipment.
  • Support internal runoff and complete verification checklists.
  • Complete robot controller backups and store on network.
  • Assist in preparation for shipment.
  • Perform installation and start up assistance on the customers’ floor.
  • Complete programming requirements after installation.
  • Conclude any open issues after installation, including technical support.
  • Obtain final signoff.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Special assigned projects as assigned by the Service Coordinator.

Reporting- System Technicians will receive daily requirements from the Service Schedule. Administrative items, such as compensation, vacation scheduling, performance reviews, etc., will fall under the responsibility of the Service Coordinator.

Hours- System Technicians will conform to a schedule beginning at 7:00AM daily. Overtime and any required changes in hours will be scheduled in advance and approved by the Service Coordinator.  System Technicians will use service timesheets to record hours and will be completed for work performed in house.  FSR’s are to be completed for work performed off site.

·       General mechanical knowledge

·       General electrical knowledge

·       Programming and/or troubleshooting knowledge of Fanuc, ABB, Motoman, or Panasonic robots

·       Computer skills including MS Office and basic DOS commands

·       “Whatever it takes” type of attitude
