Job Description

**This position is located in Baxter Springs, Kansas

**Relocation Assistance will be considered on a case by case basis. 

The Field Service Technician will provide customers with first rate field service and installation of their waterjet units, phone based technical support, preventive maintenance repairs, and field training for the high-pressure intensifiers, including their ancillary equipment.

Light office duties that include accurate record keeping, basic computer knowledge, and effective organizational skills are required.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide troubleshooting and repair service for waterjet equipment.
  • Respond to customer inquiries in person, via telephone and email.
  • Provide extensive training in the safety, operation, and maintenance of waterjet equipment.
  • Process documentation of all activities relating to customer inquires or field service.
  • Assist in the development of new products and emerging technologies.
  • Be an effective liaison with Engineering and Sales departments regarding customer feedback and new product development.
  • Process requests for replacing defective components in compliance with KMT warranty.
  • Assist other service technicians in their territories with service.
  • This position requires 70% travel from the company’s headquarters to customer sites, sometimes with limited notice.
  • When not out in the filed you will assist customers with phone support at the company’s headquarters.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, plumbing, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic skills required.
  • General diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities.
  •  Independent judgment to analyze and solve technical problems.
  • Familiar with Windows, Word and Excel, and other relevant software.  Good keyboarding skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills and ability to professionally manage and resolve stressful situations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, initiative and dependability
  • Demonstrated ability for innovative/creative thinking. 
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to quickly learn the company products and parts.
  • Ability to travel 70% or more for on-site work.  

Qualifications

Education/Experience and/or Training:

Two years Technical or Associates Degree minimum or combination of education and experience

Preferred B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or combination of education and experience

Field Experience a plus.
