Job Description

General Purpose:

Direct and manage KMT’s products and global technical standards. The Technical & Product Manager will coordinate product portfolio program management and activities to achieve timely resolution to customers’ requests and also new product launches. A requirement of this position is to manage and support project teams to achieve the department’s goals of on-time customer service, customer satisfaction ratings and state of the art products.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as a liaison between Field Service, Sales, Operations and appropriate departments within KMT Waterjet, effectively communicating and ensuring resolution to critical issues.
• Set the long-term vision and strategy for KMT’s products.
• Communicate this strategy to all of the relevant participants and stakeholders.
• Strategic planning and management of the entire product portfolio.
• Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the technical department.
• Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
• Analyze technology, resources and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
• Direct, review, and approve product design and changes together with the engineering department.
• Monitors progress against project schedules and budgets; recommends allocation of resources as required to accomplish goals.
• Responsible for assisting in interviewing, hiring and training employees.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
 

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Proven ability to lead and manage others.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, solicit input, lead and motivate.
• Comprehensive knowledge of related industry capital equipment components and systems required; preferably waterjet related.
• Proven experience managing people with strong mechanical, hydraulic, plumbing, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic skills required.
• Proven experience managing people who have experience using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, levels and alignment equipment.
• Ability to think creatively and innovatively.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze complex problems.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Yes.

Education and/or Training:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Robotics, Mech. Eng. or related degree; or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 5 years Lead, Supervisory, or Management experience
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with conventional or specialty machine tools
