Job Description

General Purpose:

Responsible for directing the H2O Jet manufacturing operations including: Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, Machine Shop, Assembly, Fabrication, Facilities/Maintenance, and Safety.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Manage and oversee overall plant operations which include manufacturing, operational excellence, and other groups.

·         Drive improvements to productivity, quality and efficiency of operations.

·         Ensure that critical manufacturing performance measures and responsibilities meet or exceed standards with an emphasis on customer satisfaction. 

·         Oversee building systems including mechanical, fire/life safety, etc. 

·         Oversee contractors for facilities planning, renovation projects, floor arrangements, etc.

·         Ensure successful planning, development, and implementation of local operational excellence projects.

·         Ensure long term planning and forecasting of staffing and workload to meet customer delivery expectations.

·         Ensure that expense and capital budgets are properly developed, approved, and managed in a timely manner for all manufacturing departments; review budgets monthly. 

·         Manage staffing levels.

·         Provide leadership and direction to assigned staff.

·         Responsible for on-time completion of performance reviews. Drive development plans to ensure on-going skills improvement and staff development.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·         High level of analytical ability to solve complex problems.

·         Exceptional organizational skills

·         Experience in Lean Manufacturing or similar waste reduction techniques (5-S, Kaizen, Continuous Flow, Lead Time Reduction, Value Stream Mapping, and Kanban) preferred.

·         Previous experience managing machine shops, fabrication, and facilities including capital appropriation and budgeting

·         Experience with reading and understanding complex part prints

·         Hands on mechanical skills

·         Proven track record of efficiency improvements, quality improvements and project management.

·         Strong leadership and strong interpersonal skills to build and lead highly effective teams

·         Demonstrated ability for innovative/creative thinking

Supervisory Responsibility:

Yes.  Assembly Supervisor, Inventory Supervisor, Production/Planning Control

Education/Experience and/or Training:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or Business Management or equivalent experience required

·         Minimum 5 years of equivalent experience leading a manufacturing environment

·         Minimum 5 years supervising others

·         Proficiency in MS Office, along with experience in an ERP system would be advantageous.
