Job Description

As part of our fast-paced team, you’ll ensure machine shop, fabrication, material handling, and testing equipment is operating on an optimal basis. You will be the first line of defense in ensuring maximized factory performance and employee safety. With your specialized knowledge of manual and CNC machines, you’ll perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, repair and schedule repairs for mills, lathes and multi-axis machines.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain factory machine tools, equipment, and controls, including CNC and manually-controlled devices. Equipment may include Okuma, Mori Seki, Mazak, and others.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulics, electronics, and software, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems.
  • Utilize manuals, technical documents, and vendor resources to assess machine performance and to identify root cause of failures.
  • Ensure machine safety and safely perform all maintenance activities in an industrial environment.
  • Maintain factory preventative maintenance and repair schedule. Manage repair records and track machine outages.
  • Operate as the main point of contact with factory for service. Arrange and support external maintenance vendor / original equipment manufacturer repair efforts.
  • Provide training as required for autonomous maintenance to other employees

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 10+ years of demonstrated high degree of industrial mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical aptitude and repair abilities
  • Troubleshooting and repair of conventional and CNC mills and lathes
  • Familiarity reading electrical schematics and diagrams
  • Self-motivated and ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates
  • Ability to work independently and to direct the activities of others.
  • Proficient in the use of precision hand tools
  • Comfortable with use of personal computers
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs., stand, walk, bend/stoop on a regular basis.

Education and/or Training:

  • Millwright & Machine Maintenance certifications preferred
