Job Description

Our client is an offshore wind farm operator located off the US East Coast.

The position is for a short-term assignment (2-3 months) starting around June / July 24.  The work rotation is a 21 days on/21 days off.

The offshore substation has been fabricated in Asia and will sail to US East Coast. 

The Welding/Coating Inspector will supervise the weld of the topside to the jacket and be responsible for logging and ensuring closing off the punch lists items.  

 

  • Conduct basic visual inspections of welded joints to identify defects, such as cracks, porosity, incomplete penetration, and undercut.
  • Ensure that welding activities adhere to industry standards and codes, such as AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, and ISO 3834.
  • Verify that welders and welding procedures are certified and qualified in accordance with relevant standards.
  • Check various structures, parts and components to ensure that mariner coatings  are applied correctly and within acceptable industry standards.
  • Assess existing painted surfaces for damages and other defects that may render the structure vulnerable to marine corrosion.  

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience as an offshore inspector
  • Coating: NACE CIP, BGAS-CSWIP, ICorr, Frosio
  • Welding: AWS-CWI / AWS-SCWI, CSA W178.2, CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2
  • VALID Offshore Water Survival / Huet / Bosiet /USCG /GW
  • This position will pay around $50/hour depending on experience.
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA.
