Job Description

The maintenance technician works within the Maintenance team under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and in collaboration with other company personnel to perform and monitor preventive, predictive and routine maintenance in addition to corrective maintenance, often-times outside of regular office hours.

Resposnsabilities:

Preventive and Corrective Maintenance

  • Execute preventive maintenance schedules and assist in the development and implementation of maintenance plans.
  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings, facilities, and assigned equipment to ensure proper functionality and compliance with operational standards.
  • Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Perform maintenance of power generation systems, including generators (engines and alternators), photovoltaic systems, and related equipment.
  • Maintain all Data Centre infrastructure equipment (electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical), excluding IT equipment such as servers and network devices.
  • Maintain company equipment and installations, including air-conditioning systems, electrical installations, lighting systems, furniture, and related assets.

Facilities Maintenance

  • Carry out repairs, installation, and relocation of electrical wiring, power outlets, lighting fixtures, and communication cabling as required.
  • Perform general building maintenance activities, including painting, rust and corrosion protection, carpentry work, installation of doors, cabinets, bulletin boards, carpets, furniture, and fixtures.
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including faucets, washers, seals, drains, and sprinkler systems.

Project and Contractor Coordination

  • Participate in the procurement process for maintenance-related equipment and materials.
  • Monitor and supervise maintenance and repair work performed by external contractors to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Coordinate and support special maintenance projects as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Operational Support

  • Participate in the on-call maintenance roster and provide 24/7 emergency maintenance support as scheduled.
  • Carry a company cell phone and remain available for emergency response when required.
  • Travel and work outside the assigned duty station when necessary to support operational requirements.

Communication and Reporting

  • Promptly report unusual occurrences, equipment failures, damages, or potential risks to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and comply with all administrative and reporting requirements.

Financial and Resource Management

  • Ensure company resources, including spare parts, tools, fuel, and maintenance materials, are properly monitored, utilized, and accounted for.
  • Comply with financial control procedures and administrative reporting obligations related to maintenance activities.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering  or equivalent is required;
  • Medium-level Electrical Technician from an Industrial Institute;
  • Valid professional driver’s license: category “D” (Cargas Perigosas) is an advantage;

Experience

  • Good working knowledge of mechanical and electro-mechanical fields and IT installations;
  • Good experience working with low-voltage (<600V) diesel power generation;
  • Experience with renewable energies (solar, wind) preferred;
  • At least 2 years experience in similar operations;
  • Good general knowledge and life skills;

Competencies

  • Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings;
  • Good repair report writing capability,
  • Ability to calculate and correctly dimension electrical installations;
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English;
  • Good technical skills and experience in field operations and combustion engines,
  • Sensitive to set deadlines;
  • Good public relations and interpersonal skills;
  • Be ethical and of high integrity.
