Job Description
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To perform the role of Intern within the Metallurgy division. The responsibilities and authorities of
the Intern in the Metallurgy division in relation to post requirements are outlined.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform routine and non-routine tests following established procedures and/or modify
procedures to accomplish the assigned Metallurgy tasks.
• Complete tasks within the allocated time and plan work for Interns to ensure that the
overall service goals of the company are met
• Responsible for reporting any infringements or non–compliances by any other laboratory
staff member with respect to allocated work, punctuality, or any other misdemeanor to the
metallurgist.
• Must be able to carry out all associated sample preparation test-work for Metallurgy testwork.
• Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.
• Perform any other reasonable task as assigned by direct line manager.
Qualifications
Diploma / Bachelors degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or similar.
Additional Information
Experience
Minimum of 1 to 2 years experience in the field of Metallurgy or similar.
