Job Description
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Laboratory Technician to join our Portsmith team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and is looking to build a career with a global organisation. No laboratory qualifications are required – full training will be provided.
About the role
Working as part of our laboratory team, you will prepare soil and water samples for testing by carrying out practical tasks such as drying, crushing, grinding and processing samples. You'll also help maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment while supporting the day-to-day operations of the laboratory.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and process soil and water samples for testing.
- Carry out sample preparation tasks, including drying, crushing and grinding samples.
- Operate laboratory equipment safely and follow established procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Follow all SGS health, safety and quality requirements.
- Assist the laboratory team with general duties as required.
Qualifications
About you
- You enjoy practical, hands-on work and have good attention to detail.
- You are reliable, motivated and willing to learn.
- You work well both independently and as part of a team.
- You can follow instructions and work safely in a laboratory environment.
- Previous laboratory experience is an advantage but not essential, as full training will be provided.
