Job Description

About the role

In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and implementing quality management systems and HSE compliance activities. You will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure SGS standards, accreditation obligations and client expectations are consistently met.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain the laboratory Quality Management System to ensure compliance with ISO 17025 and NATA requirements.
  • Act as the site Quality representative and provide expert guidance on quality-related matters.
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct internal audits to verify compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Providing staff induction/training on Quality and HSE policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate Management Review Meetings and track actions to completion.
  • Oversee method validation and verification activities to ensure technical reliability and accuracy.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance laboratory performance, efficiency, and quality outcomes.
  • Manage corrective and preventive actions, ensuring issues are investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Monitor laboratory quality records, calibrations, and documentation to maintain accreditation standards.
  • Provide technical support to laboratory operations and promote a strong culture of quality, compliance, and safety.

Qualifications

About you

You are a confident and practical quality professional who can balance technical requirements with operational needs. You enjoy building strong working relationships, influencing stakeholders, and supporting teams to meet quality, safety and compliance standards.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Relevant qualification in Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Experience working with ISO 17025 accreditation and laboratory quality systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
