Job Description
We are seeking an Oil Condition Fluid Analyst to join our used oil diagnostics team at Perth Airport. In this role, you will interpret laboratory analysis of lubricating oils and greases, provide practical technical recommendations, and help customers understand the condition and performance of their equipment.
This is a great opportunity for a technically minded professional who enjoys problem solving, working with data, and partnering with customers to deliver accurate, timely and value-adding diagnostic outcomes.
What you’ll be doing
- Interpret laboratory results of oil, grease, coolant and fuel analysis and prepare clear, accurate technical reports for customers.
- Provide practical comments and recommendations based on equipment design and operating conditions.
- Identify wear trends, contamination sources, and lubricant degradation issues.
- Liaise with customers to confirm analysis requirements, sampling schedules and agreed deadlines.
- Support laboratory workflow by identifying priorities and helping the team meet key turnaround times.
- Perform sample registration, confirm required tests and assist with sample submissions.
- Contribute to quality control, research and development activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Carry out scheduled instrument calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting in line with procedures.
- Work collaboratively with the diagnostics and laboratory teams to maintain service quality and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure adherence to SGS safety, environmental, and quality policies.
Qualifications
What We Are Looking For
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Science or a related discipline.
- Practical experience in the Oil, Gas and Chemicals industry, ideally within oil diagnostics.
- Experience in condition monitoring, testing and/or maintenance.
- Understanding of laboratory operations, QA/QC requirements, NATA accreditation and compliance standards.
- Confident computer literacy and the ability to work with technical data and reporting systems.
