Job Description
- Job Title: Technical Specialist
- Job Type: Permanent
- Location: Ellesmere Port - onsite
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm
- Salary: from £25,000 pa DOE
- Industry: Oil Conditioning Monitoring
Main Duties
- Ensuring all samples received are diagnosed and are issued within turnaround times according to business and customer requirements
- Perform investigational analysis including the planning and execution of out-of-scope operations, analysis and generation of bespoke reporting in accordance with business and customer requirements.
- Provide technical assistance to team leaders or other appropriate colleagues to maintain service levels and ensure efficient laboratory operations.
- Liaise with customers to keep them informed of analytical test issues such as delays, etc. to ensure customer satisfaction and confidence is maintained – this will include sporadic face to face site visits
- Maintain instrument up time assisting stakeholders in solving analytical instrument issues i.e. ICP, Viscosity and FTIR.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who has:
- Experience in a used oil laboratory environment or experience in a lubricant industry technical role
- Experience of Failure mode and effects analysis and undertaking Route Cause analysis
- Experience of wet chemistry analysis
- Experience in being an advance M package user - specifically Excel
Essential Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering / Chemistry Qualification (C&G / HNC / HND)
- Time served experience with interpretation of FTIR, GC-MS, ICP data
