Job Description

Join our team as a full-time Assistant Technician (CMT Lab) in Malaga and kick-start your career in construction materials testing. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in accuracy, and is looking for long-term career growth in a supportive laboratory environment.

You’ll be involved in testing construction materials using both destructive and non-destructive methods, while also gaining exposure to chemical testing, sample preparation, and quality-focused lab processes.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assist with preparing, collecting, and organising samples for testing
  • Carry out routine laboratory testing and support equipment calibration under guidance
  • Help maintain laboratory equipment and keep work areas clean, safe, and well organised
  • Record and correlate test data accurately and assist with preparing basic reports
  • Work closely with the team to support efficient day-to-day lab operations
  • Contribute ideas for continuous improvement and take part in a positive team culture
  • Support other laboratory duties as required

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Certificate III in Laboratory Techniques or any relevant qualification
  • Previous laboratory experience
  • WA C Class Driver’s Licence
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to following safe work practices
  • A positive, reliable, and team-focused approach
