Job Description

  • Permanent Full-Time role
  • Based in Brisbane, QLD

As a Senior Lead Auditor, you will be responsible for conducting 2nd and 3rd party audits and customised assignments in accordance with approved codes, SOPs, and your relevant experience. You will carry out assessments, verification, and compliance activities, manage technical queries, and support the marketing and promotion of audit services. The role also includes leading skills and competency training, assessing SGS certification auditors, and delivering training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, delivery, and quality oversight of audits and assessments across multiple industry sectors.
  • Ensure audit and assessment activities comply with accreditation requirements, standards, and organisational policies.
  • Provide leadership to audit and assessment teams, promoting professionalism, strong performance, and effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Apply engineering principles and sustainability technologies in audits, assessments, and verification activities.
  • Conduct technical testing, validation, and performance assessments of systems, technologies, and processes.
  • Analyse engineering, operational, and environmental data to identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Recommend or implement enhancements to technologies, systems, or processes to support improved safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Exercise sound professional judgement in audit execution, certification recommendations, and the escalation of complex issues.
  • Act as a technical authority, managing technical enquiries, reviewing compliance documentation, and supporting certification decisions.
  • Manage workload, resources, and utilisation to achieve strong commercial and service delivery performance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of audit outcomes, certification decisions, and quality assurance documentation.
  • Contribute to auditor development through mentoring, witness audits, technical coaching, and ongoing competency assurance.
  • Support engineering, sustainability, and continuous improvement projects through structured technical analysis and reporting.
  • Participate in business improvement and business development initiatives to enhance systems, processes, and services. 
  • Demonstrate ethical leadership and act as a brand ambassador, upholding organisational values and professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Ability to evaluate, validate, and assess the plausibility and integrity of complex data sources
  • Strong knowledge of agriculture and agronomy practices
  • Pedological (soil science) knowledge relevant to land use and sustainability assessments
  • Biological and ecological knowledge applicable to environmental and sustainability impacts
  • Knowledge of greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting principles and methodologies
  • Working knowledge of ISAE 3000 assurance requirements
  • Aerospace Experienced Auditor (AEA) status authenticated for applicable AQMS standard(s) (EN 9100, EN 9110 and/or EN 9120)
  • ISCC scheme competence, including completion of required ISCC training applicable to audit scope (EU, PLUS, CORSIA)
  • Mandatory ISCC Waste & Residue (W/R) training for audits involving wastes, residues, W/R‑based or (bio‑)circular materials
  • Strong professional judgement, analytical thinking, and compliance‑based decision‑making capability
  • Approved by SGS as a Lead Auditor
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in a business environment.
  • Proficiency in English. 
  • Current, valid driver’s license.
