    Job Description

    Job Title: Calibration Engineer
    Job Type: Permanent
    Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm
    Location: Ellesmere Port 

    We are looking for a skilled and proactive Calibration Engineer to join our team and support the delivery of high‑quality calibration and certification services. In this role, you’ll carry out tank and fuel meter calibrations both on-site and at customer locations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service. This is a hands‑on position with opportunities to contribute to process improvements and the ongoing development of SGS calibration services.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct calibration and certification of storage tanks, fuel meters, and associated equipment in line with industry standards and SGS procedures.
    • Perform calibration work at SGS facilities, customer premises, and off‑site locations as required.
    • Maintain a strong working knowledge of relevant codes of practice and emerging technologies within oil meter measurement systems.
    • Support the continuous improvement of calibration processes, documentation, and operational procedures.
    • Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, impartially, and in compliance with SGS quality systems and the Company’s Code of Integrity & Professional Conduct.

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • Full Driving Licence for use in the UK
    • GCSE’s in Maths and English and other relevant subjects to grade (A-C), or equivalent

    Desirable

    • Level 3 NVQ & HNC or above in an engineering discipline, or equivalent
    • HGV
    • FLT Licence.
    • Safety passport (CCNSG)
