Job Description

The Transition Lead / HR Operations Manager will be responsible for leading the end-to-end migration of HR processes from local entities in Europe to the Global Business Services (GBS) / Shared Service Center (SSC) structure. Post-transition, the role shifts toward operational excellence, ensuring stabilized delivery, team management, and continuous improvement of HR services across the employee lifecycle, while actively shaping a high-performance culture within the Katowice SSC.

Key Responsibilities

1. Transition & Project Management

  • Process Migration: Lead the "lift and shift" or transformation of HR processes (Recruitment Admin, HR Operations) from local countries to the Katowice hub.
  • Knowledge Transfer: Design and oversee the Knowledge Transfer (KT) phase, ensuring documentation (DTPs, SOPs) is accurate and signed off.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks during the transition phase and implement contingency plans to ensure zero business disruption.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for local HR Business Partners and Country Leads during the transition journey.

2. Operational Excellence & Delivery

  • Service Level Management: Monitor and report on KPIs/SLAs to ensure the team meets or exceeds service delivery standards.
  • Process Optimization: Drive Continuous improvement initiatives to automate manual tasks and streamline HR workflows.
  • Escalation Management: Serve as the senior point of contact for complex HR operational issues and policy interpretations.
  • Compliance & Audit: Ensure all HR data processing complies with GDPR and local labor law requirements across various jurisdictions.

3. People Leadership

  • Resource Planning: Build the Katowice HR team from scratch: take full ownership of the recruitment process, onboarding, and talent selection for the new hub.
  • Team Development: Build, lead, and mentor a team of HR Generalists and Specialists, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
  • Performance Management: Conduct regular 1-to-1 meetings, performance reviews, and career development planning.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6–8 years in HR Shared Services, with at least 3 years in a leadership or project-lead role.
  • Proven track record of managing HR transitions, migrations, or transformation projects within the European market.
  • Proficiency in HRIS platforms (Workday or ServiceNow).
  • Excellent command of English (C1); fluency in other European languages (e.g., German, French) is a significant advantage.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) with the ability to analyze HR metrics and translate data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and lead teams while building a new organization.
  • Ready to occasional business travels - up to 30% during the Knowledge Transfer phase
