Job Description
Head of Media and Internal Communications is responsible for managing the Group’s media relations and internal communications activities, ensuring consistent, clear and timely messaging aligned with the Group’s strategy, performance and values. The role supports senior leadership in particular the CEO in strengthening the Group’s visibility and reputation in Switzerland and internationally, while fostering engagement and alignment internally across regions and business areas.
The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to the following:
Media Relations
- Develop and implement proactive media engagement strategies aligned with corporate priorities and strategic milestones.
- Manage relationships with key Swiss and international journalists across business, financial and trade media.
- Support and coordinate CEO and senior leadership visibility in Swiss and international media, including interviews, opinion pieces and public appearances.
- Prepare media briefings, key messages, Q&A documents and interview preparation materials.
- Coordinate media activities around results announcements, strategic developments, acquisitions and corporate initiatives.
- Keep the company’s intranet up to date both in terms of content and navigation
- Monitor media coverage and provide analysis, insights and recommendations.
Internal Communications
- Develop and execute internal communication plans supporting strategic initiatives, organisational changes and leadership messaging.
- Draft internal announcements, leadership communications and employee updates.
- Ensure consistent messaging across headquarters, regions and business areas.
- Support and coordinate CEO and senior leadership visibility within the company
- Support employee engagement initiatives and internal campaigns.
- Engage and foster the community of communications professionals based in the regions
- Organise the Senior Leaders quarterly calls
- Keep the company’s intranet up to date both in terms of content and navigation
- Advise senior leadership on communication approach, tone and timing in a multicultural environment.
Content and Messaging
- Translate complex business, financial and technical topics into clear and compelling communication for internal and external audiences.
- Ensure alignment between internal and external narratives, particularly around strategy and sustainability.
- Maintain editorial standards and consistency across communication channels.
Issues and Reputation Management
- Support the management of sensitive issues and reputational matters in coordination with Corporate Communications and Legal.
- Prepare holding statements and internal guidance when required.
Qualifications
- Degree in Communications, Journalism, Business or related field
- 7–12+ years’ experience in corporate communications, including significant experience in internal communications.
- Strong experience in media relations, ideally within the Swiss media landscape.
- Experience supporting senior executives or CEO visibility in a listed company environment.
- Native German speaker with full professional fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Strong writing and editorial skills.
- Excellent judgement and ability to operate in high-visibility situations.
- Experience in international or listed company environment strongly preferred
