Our tech services provide mechanical sampling design and commissioning for all bulk particulate materials.
Job Description
Ready to get hands-on in a fast-paced laboratory environment? We’re offering exciting casual opportunities for Coal Technicians to join our team and play a vital role in delivering accurate, high-quality coal analysis to recognised international standards.
This is a practical, boots-on-the-ground role where no two days are the same — perfect for someone who enjoys working both in the lab and onsite.
In this hands-on role, you will:
- Conduct accurate physical coal sample collection from mechanical sampling systems and within a CHPP environment, ensuring strict turnaround times are met
- Receive, record, analyse, report, sort and store coal samples with a high level of accuracy
- Operate analytical and sample preparation equipment (manual and automated)
- Plan and coordinate shift workflow, including sample pick-ups and testing schedules
- Perform general maintenance, troubleshooting and basic fault diagnostics on laboratory and preparation equipment
- Ensure full compliance with analytical methods, site procedures and Quality Systems
Qualifications
About You
To be successful, you will ideally bring:
- Experience in coal sampling, preparation and testing (highly regarded but not essential)
- Previous exposure to a mineral or coal laboratory environment (preferred)
- Strong computer skills, including Excel (CCLAS experience advantageous)
- The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a team
- A proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Current Standard 11 (advantageous)
- The ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical
