Job Description

SGS are seeking an experienced and dynamic Client Services Manager to lead our Environmental Laboratory client operations and join the team in Alexandria. This is a critical leadership role responsible for managing high-value client relationships, driving service excellence, and overseeing a high-performing Client Services team. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capability, industry knowledge, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer experience.

Responsibilities include, however are not limited to:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the Client Services team, including Customer Service Officers and Key Account Managers.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, with a focus on top-tier accounts.
  • Collaborate closely with the Laboratory Manager and section heads to coordinate workload and resolve operational challenges.
  • Oversee client reporting, invoicing, and credit note processing in partnership with the GBS team.
  • Drive adoption and optimization of digital platforms including SLIM, E-DATA, SPM, EDGE, ENGAGE, and ESDAT.
  • Champion continuous improvement, efficiency, and innovation across client service processes.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on KPIs for the Client Services team.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, business initiatives, and operational projects as part of the NSW management team.

Qualifications

the successful candidate will have:

  • Formal qualifications and/or experience in people management, client services and laboratory operations

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with proven ability to mentor and inspire high-performing teams

  • Comprehensive knowledge of environmental industry operations and laboratory processes.

  • Hands-on experience in water, soil, and air testing

  • Previous NATA signatory experience

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems, and maintain service quality under pressure.

  • Proficiency in CRM systems and data management platforms.
