Job Description
Main purpose of the role:
- Responsible for leading the global sales strategy and driving the development of medical schemes within SGS Medical Devices.
- Ensures consistent alignment with global procedures, fosters business growth, enhances client engagement, and strengthens SGS’s market position across all medical schemes and delivery offices. Furthermore, bridges commercial objectives with evolving regulatory landscapes, while promoting innovation in service offerings and strategic partnerships.
Reporting line: Global Segment Head of Medical Devices
Key accountabilities:
- Proactively and independently lead global sales planning and execution across all medical schemes and delivery offices (DOs) and Hubs through indirect reporting structures.
- Develop and expand certification scheme offerings in response to client needs and regulatory changes
- Secure all Medical pricelists (internal and external) are always competitive and in line with internal SGS policies
- Drive and deliver projects proactively, taking full ownership from initiation through implementation
- Collaborate closely with DOs and Hubs to secure achievement of their medical growth targets
- Represent SGS at external forums, conferences, and industry events to elevate brand visibility and establish Industry leadership.
- Align affiliate sales teams with central strategy and process though effective communication, targeted training and coaching.
- Identify strategic partnerships and emerging market opportunities to support sustainable growth.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Demonstrated expertise in global sales strategy, business development and execution within the medical device sales and marketing.
- Understanding of MDR/IVDR and international regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in scheme development, product positioning, and market analysis.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities, with the capacity to influence across all levels of the organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to work proactively and independently, taking full ownership of objectives and delivering results at pace.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational and change management capabilities.
- Strong commercial acumen and deep appreciation of the TIC industry.
- Familiarity with conformity assessment procedures and Notified Body operations.
- Multilingual proficiency and cross-cultural experience.
Qualifications
Essential
- Minimum of 5 years in sales, business development, or commercial leadership roles within the medical device TIC industry.
- Proven success in a leadership role with direct line management responsibilities.
- Experience in managing complex, multi stakeholder projects, balancing commercial objectives with regulatory and operational contraints.
Desirable
- Experience collaborating with regulatory bodies, industry associations, or certification organisations.
- Exposure to international business environments and experience navigating matrix organisational structures.
Additional Information
- SGS ambition is to become the TIC Industry world leader
- The position is fully remote (but can be office based).
- Preferred location: Europe or India. The incumbent must possess a valid work permit for the given country.
- Flexibility to travel (short and long distance) up to 25%.
