Job Description
Role's Objective:
This position is responsible for overseeing all accounting and tax matters in the country, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of both internal and external financial reporting. The incumbent will also support the Financial Director (FD) in other financial matters as needed and provide backup support when required.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the monthly reporting process to ensure that results are delivered both internally and externally in accordance with agreed deadlines. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of management reports and financial statements.
- Implement and enforce the accounting rules and policies outlined in the Group Financial Manual (GFM).
- Business partnering: Collate and analyze monthly comments from the business to ensure their accuracy and help identify any financial reporting risks or non-compliance with Group policies; support the business in all financial aspects, e.g., but not limited to capex proposals, tax-related matters, contract reviews, cost analysis, etc., in order to help drive profitability (LC margin).
- Assist FC to handle tax-related matters, including regular filing of VAT / CIT as per local regulations, ensuring timeliness in filing and accuracy
- Internal control: Assist FC in ensuring ICORF (Internal Control over Financial Reporting) testing are done in accordance with Group's requirements. In doing so, also helps to assess current practices and procedures adequacy, and make recommendations for improvement based on best practices in SGS other affiliates etc.
- Assist Finance Director and engage with Business to prepare annual budget and forecasting. Any other ad-hoc projects/tasks as requested by Supervisor/s
- Help to identify, coach potential strengths of staff in Finance department to ensure they are delegated the right tasks. Part of succession planning for a key position
- Lead and develop the accounting team, including setting objectives, monitoring performance, and ensuring continuous development.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Good communication skills and proactive in communicating with Business Heads.
- Experience in same position > 7 years in a multinational company (Size>1000 employees)
Additional Information
- ACCA / CPA / CA equivalent is a plus
- Familiarity with SUN and Vision systems is an advantage.
