Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Rope Access Electrical Inspector to join our offshore team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting electrical inspections and maintenance of systems in hazardous areas. You will utilize rope access techniques to perform inspections and ensure compliance with industry standards, including CompEX EX01-EX04 certifications for hazardous zones.
You will work on offshore oil and gas platforms, ensuring the safety, functionality, and compliance of electrical systems while maintaining a focus on safety, efficiency, and quality. Key Responsibilities:
Rope Access & Electrical Inspections:
Perform rope access operations to access difficult-to-reach areas for electrical system inspections and testing.
Conduct CompEX EX01-EX04 inspections to certify electrical systems in hazardous areas (e.g., Zone 1, Zone 2).
Inspect and assess electrical systems for safety, functionality, and compliance with regulations.
Perform testing, troubleshooting, and recommend repairs or upgrades as necessary.
Offshore Safety Compliance:
Ensure compliance with offshore safety regulations and industry standards (e.g., IRATA, CompEX, HSE).
Participate in regular safety drills and emergency response procedures.
Ensure electrical installations are safe, compliant, and minimize potential risks in offshore environments.
Documentation & Reporting:
Prepare and submit detailed inspection reports, highlighting findings, corrective actions, and compliance issues.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and compliance documentation.
Collaboration with Offshore Teams:
Work closely with other offshore technicians, engineers, and safety personnel.
Provide technical support and expertise in electrical safety and hazardous area classifications.
Assist with troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues in offshore environments.
Qualifications
Education:
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
Certifications:
IRATA Level 1/2 Rope Access Certification.
OPITO-approved TBOSIET (Tropical Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training).
H2S Awareness Certification.
CompEX Certification (EX01-EX04) for hazardous area electrical inspections.
Experience:
Proven experience as an Electrical Inspector or Electrician in offshore and/or hazardous environments.
At least 5 years of experience within the oil and gas industry, with a strong focus on electrical systems.
Minimum 4 years of experience in offshore environments, with preference for candidates with Gulf region experience.
