Are you looking for an exciting role in a global business with a network of operations around the world?
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and strategic individual who can harness the opportunities available in PNG through relationship building and demonstrated solid understanding of complex political, cultural, social and organisational challenges.
In this role, you will provide overall strategic leadership and direction of the Minerals and Industries divisions within PNG. You will take ownership of maximising growth and profitability of the business units across the country, and deliver on the effective management of the financial, technical and personnel components of a multi-product/service offering. Through collaboration with business line leaders, you will capitalise on new business opportunities and build on existing relationships to ensure that the company's and customers’ expectations are met (or exceeded) at all times.
Reporting to the Managing Director Australia, New Zealand and PNG, and joining our leadership team, you will be responsible for:
- Defining and executing the overall Minerals and Industries strategy.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the divisions on how to best operate in PNG and ensure the safety and wellbeing of all employees either local or deployed.
- Ensure EHS, HR, Client and Quality KPIs are met, setting expectations in line with company goals.
- Liaise with key customers, including PNG Government, to ensure services are meeting customer demands and requirements.
- Assist in the strategic planning for growth and sustainability of the business lines, with a focus on developing a greater presence in the minerals portfolio.
- Oversee tender submissions.
- Take overall responsibility for the P&L and compliance at a local level.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
To be considered for this role, you must have experience in a commercial operation in PNG or similar environment understanding the unique challenges and the need for cultural sensitivity.
- Relevant degree in Science, Business or similar preferably in minerals/mining/laboratories.
- Extensive experience in contract and client management.
- Proven leadership skills ideally in complex cultural environments.
