POSITION SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and maintain client relationships. The Key Account Manager will be responsible for maintaining key accounts, development of new and emergent business, as well as driving new service offerings within the SGS businesses. The role will require strong collaboration and professional relationships with current operation and business managers, as well as with clients. This role will drive business for the Brookings, SD laboratories but can be based anywhere in the United States.

JOB FUNCTIONS
- Maintain key accounts, development of new and emergent business, as well as drive new service offerings within the SGS businesses
- Educate customers on SGS Brookings service offerings
- Act as the commercial face and voice of SGS with clients. Includes developing relationships, fielding inquiries, assisting in proposal development and issuance, and completing regular visits to identified key accounts
- Work to identify key industry events, and lead SGS presence at relative trade shows, conferences, and client meetings
- Aggressively seek new service portfolio offerings from a clear and thorough understanding of client needs, anticipating what is needed to improve service quality to improve market share and customer revenues

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's of Science in Agriculture, Business, Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or Applied Sciences, Required Masters Degree (preferred)
- 3+ years in the Crop Science industry with experience that may include multiple areas of business management: Sales/Marketing, Business Development, Key Account Management, Product Development, Client Services, Strategy, Operations (Required)
- A clear and defined knowledge of the seed and crop industry and client commercial interaction is essential (Required)
- Experience working at large, multi-national corporations or mid-sized corporations serving as suppliers to on-farm inputs (Required)
