Job Description
SGS are seeking a motivated and experienced Shift Supervisor to join our team in Kalgoorlie. This key role is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring safety, quality, and timely analysis of samples. You will also play a crucial role in supervising staff and stepping in for the Laboratory Manager when required. This is a Kalgoorlie based role and not FIFO.
Responsibilities include, however, not limited to:
Address safety, quality, and HR non-compliance issues.
Conduct analyses as per client contracts.
Prioritise workflow to meet client deadlines.
Supervise lab personnel with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
Review data and issue final reports.
Train and mentor staff to support laboratory growth.
Uphold SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.
Qualifications
The Ideal Candidate will have the following:
Proven experience in laboratory operations and strong chemical knowledge.
Background in sample preparation.
Hands-on experience with ICP and gold assay techniques.
Strong organisational and supervisory skills.
Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Physically fit due to required tasks.
