PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Within the Corporate IT organization, you will join the IT Delivery team for LIMs (Laboratory Information Management Systems: G6 technology) providing technical expertise:

• Participate to the implementation of a LIMS solution based on JEE technologies, either by developing new applications/features or by maintaining existing ones.
• Take responsibility of reviewing and optimizing a set of SQL queries and Crystal Reports templates.
• Provide 3rd level application support for the application.

SPECIFIC TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure the implementation of LIMS related development in a timely and quality fashion.
• Translate business and IT specifications into detailed designs and java code, as well as unit and system testing
• Ensure the quality of the development by implementing best practice designs, documenting the code appropriately and ensuring performance maximization by optimizing the code
• Implement the data model changes required by the LIMS
• Create the views and SQL statements that may be required by the applications or reporting tools
• Define the indexes that are required for optimized performance
• Creating and delivering high quality Crystal Reports as requested. Maintenance and support users and team members on Crystal Reports usage.
• Ensure the 3rd level support of in-house development in collaboration with other development team members
• At all times, comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct

PROFILE

• Graduate Level of studies and/or Post-Secondary Education  in Computer Science, Engineering or related subject
• Minimum 5 years of relevant Java and Crystal Reports development experience.
• Required
  • Good knowledge of XML (SOAP Web services, XSD …)
  • Knowledge of Java patterns
  • Crystal Reports (versions 9.0 and later) experience 
  • Experience with Relational Databases, SQL and Oracle PL/SQL
  • Knowledge of development methodologies (Agile, Scrum)
• Ideally
  • Knowledge of LIMS
  • Experience with GIT projects’ repository
  • Experience with JBoss and application deployment
  • Experience with J2EE framework.
• Relevant experience of SQL development including ability to write and tune sql code for optimized performance 
• Strong knowledge and experience in designing database model
• Good understanding of the Application Lifecycle Management
• Used to work in an international environment
