Our Ruakaka operations are on the lookout for responsible and reliable people to join our friendly team on a casual basis.
The role will involve the discharging of fuel or bunkering on the Wharf. The work involves manual handling and will involve working outside in all weather conditions.
Vessels can arrive at any time of the day or night, weekdays or weekend, so flexibility is key for this role.
What will you be doing?
- Complete tasks associated with the loading or discharging operations on vessels operating at various berth locations in the Ruakaka/Whangarei area
- Complete tasks associated with the bunkering of vessels operating at various berth locations in the Ruakaka/Whangarei area
- Comply with SGS policies and procedures
- Work with the Branch Manager to maximise business returns while minimising risks
- Complete all SGS training courses within time required.
- Ensure all activities are carried out with regard and recognition of Health and Safety requirements and personal safety
Qualifications
What we are looking for:
Profile:
- Proven ability to manage your time and work in a busy environment
- Due to working hours and the need to be available on short notice, ideally you will be situated within 20km of Ruakaka, Northland
- Owing to the nature of the work and scheduling requirements, you will need to be available to work, days, nights, weekends and public holidays in all weather conditions.
- Demonstrated skill in following operating procedures including strict health and safety requirements
- Knowledge of and previous experience working in the Oil, Gas and Chemical Industry highly advantageous
Qualifications:
- Good verbal communication and able to maintain accurate written records
- Current full driver's license
- Experienced in the operation of VHF and UHF radios
- Must hold a current and unrestricted New Zealand Driver’s License
- Forklift License (highly advantageous)
- Pass a drug screening process
- Must be a NZ Citizen/Resident or hold a valid work visa
