Job Description
Head of Minerals Project, reporting to Country Managing Director, Responsible of all business operations related to the Minerals Project, including its clients and stakeholder's relationship management and people leading, ensuring the compliance with the Company quality systems procedures and processes. To maintain the long-term business projects are executed by improving the Revenue and profitability.
Qualifications
Education
- Degree Geology and mining, Chemistry, Port Management, Finance, Economic and Business Management or other related qualification. (Master’s degree constitutes advantage).
Experience & Competencies
- Project management experience is key.
- At least 10 years work experience in the Mining Sector.
- Technical expertise to gain good knowledge of our Mining technology.
- Solid experience with ISO's 9001, 14001, 45001 and 17025.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in team leading, partnership and change management.
- Computer Skills with the use of computer systems and applications such as business intelligence, MS word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Fluent in Portuguese and English
- Ability to act independently and to coordinate several activities simultaneously.
- Ability to interact with all levels of management and stakeholders.
- Persuasion and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical skills.

Responsabilities
- Manage a team and is responsible for executing the project within its lifespan and achieving the deliverables required.
- Manage and coordinate multidiscipline teams and activities to ensure projects are executed in a safe, efficient, cost-effective, and timely manner.
- Act as primary interface with the client to ensure that the client's expectations are satisfied.
- Ensure the project conforms to the client's approved terms of reference and all applicable legislation and regulations.
- Responsible for providing verification and validation services for production and export data of mineral products, namely, Coal, Graphite and Heavy Sands.
- Managing the implementation services of inspection processes of the quantity and quality of mineral products at loading sites: Port inspection during ship loading and inspection of quality and quantities produced.
- Manage diverse teams of operational professionals and support functions.
- Manage operational relations with partners and stakeholders to keep them informed on project progress.
- Ensuring integrity and continuous improvement in inspection, testing and certification services.
- Comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.
- Apply the quality management system practices and ensure compliance with ISO requirements.
- Ensure and adopt, always, a safe behavior by exercising due regard for the health and safety of SGS employees and clients, in line with the policies and procedures.
