The EHS Business Manager holds a pivotal role within our organization, ensuring the sustained growth and profitability of our Environmental Health and Safety business unit. You are tasked with developing and executing strategic initiatives to enhance our environment consultancy services and lab testing capabilities for environmental and geotechnical testing.

In this capacity, you will have direct accountability for the P&L of the EHS business unit, managing resources efficiently to drive financial performance and client satisfaction. You will be required to have an acute understanding of the market in UAE, identifying trends, and capitalizing on opportunities for growth and expansion. You will engage with clients, understanding their needs and challenges, and delivering solutions that meet or exceed their expectations.

Job Description

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to grow the EHS business unit, with a strong focus on environment consultancy services and related lab testing.
  • Manage the P&L of the EHS business unit, ensuring budgeted targets are met or exceeded.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
  • Lead and mentor a team of EHS professionals, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the EHS business unit, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all processes.
  • Work on the replication of SGS global success solutions and promote the use of inhouse digital and AI tools as applicable.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in EHS related services.
  • Contribute to the tendering and bidding process and ensure the compliance of the technical and commercial proposals and be part of the contract review and negotiation when needed.
  • Represent the company at industry and networking events.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in environmental science, or related field is a must.
  • 15+ years of experience in EHS, with a proven track record in business management. Consultancy background is mandatory.
  • Excellent knowledge of the standards requirements ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO17025.
  • Recent work experience in UAE or GCC region is required with experience working with government institutions.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in environment consultancy services and related lab testing.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead a team to achieve business objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective business strategies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound business decisions.
  • Excellent English language skills.
