Job Description
To assist the Manager of the Geochem Admin Department to effectively overseeing the Administrative functions of the division as well as maintaining customer communication
- Printing and e-mailing of test reports
- Invoicing completed work as per agreed rates
- Assist department with general administrative tasks (filing, copying, creating customized reporting templates, reconciliations, updating spreadsheets)
- Assist department with maintaining a current status of outstanding work as well as following up with the lab regarding expected reporting dates
- Assist Section Manger with contract review and issues of proposals
- Assist with and co-ordinate customer enquiries/queries.
- Data entry of results into SLIM G6 where necessary
- General Laboratory duties as required and within qualifications
- Maintain a clean working environment
- Complies with health and safety regulations.
- Keep relevant communications confidential
- Complies and conforms to the laboratory quality management system (ISO17025 and SANAS)
- Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.
- Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager.
- Participate and form part of Operational Integrity projects and campaigns
- Apply Check status process and use the Stop Work Authority whenever the control of risks is not clearly established and understood
- Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.

Qualifications
Education
- Grade 12 / Matric or N3 with Mathematics and Science as subjects – and/or proven years of laboratory, knowledge, skills and experience sufficient to be recognized as a qualification through – Recognition of Prior Learning
- National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry will be an advantage
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in an administrative position
- Computer Literate (Microsoft Office)
- Laboratory background be an advantage
