Job Description

The Role: 
We're seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager to join our team and drive our engineering department. As a member of the leadership team, your role will be pivotal in managing our infrastructure, ensuring operational security and effectiveness, and developing innovative products that align with our vision and customer needs. The ideal candidate will have the ability to translate needs into refined software solutions.

More specifically, you will:

  • Lead the engineering department, providing technical guidance and inspiration.
  • Develop strategic plans, including evaluation timelines, and service development and deployment elements.
  • Collaborate with the team to enhance engineering tools, systems, procedures, and data security.
  • Refine the company's computing architecture.
  • Conduct system performance tests.
  • Approve product design and modifications.
  • Work closely with product managers and marketing department to align company goals and strategy.
  • Maintain smooth communication within the team and across other departments.
  • Supervise procedures for monitoring systems and preventing potential and existing bottlenecks.
  • Upgrade Truum's platform capabilities regarding architecture, performance, scalability, and flexibility.
  • Attract, hire, and retain top engineering talent, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.
  • Foster a customer-focused, technologically courageous team that innovates for customer benefit.
  • Initiate new ideas for service consolidation, scalability, and extendibility.
  • Lead technology leverage through building a modular technology services framework and simplifying technology over various product features.
  • Contribute to business strategy by understanding vital business metrics, paying attention to customers and stakeholders, and steering overall product direction.

Qualifications

We are interested in applicants who have:

  • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager, Engineering Director, or a similar leadership role.
  • Proficiency with web development front and back-end technologies, and cloud technologies.
  • Awareness of technological trends that can translate into effective strategies.
  • Understanding of budgets and business planning.
  • Ability to undertake technological analyses and conduct research.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with problem-solving aptitude.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MBA, or a related field is desirable.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in software product production with demonstrated results.
  • Extensive experience in managing large-scale software development projects.
  • Exceptional communication skills, ability to explain complex concepts to a diverse audience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of distributed technologies, public cloud technologies, data structures, and algorithms.
