Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Visit the site to analyze the environment conditions, on-site risks, electric lines, other facilities that may affect the project; and providing recommendations to the Health and Safety Plan, Procedures, etc.
  • May have to draft Health & Safety Plan for site.
  • Analysis of the Health & Safety Plan of the main contractors.
  • Check & ensure the compliance of local H&S legislation on site.
  • Preparation of the administrative H&S procedures for Local Works Authority.
  • Provide reporting to the Client on the Health and Safety status during the construction.
  • Attend periodical follow-up meetings to discuss the progress of projects or questions about H&S matters on site.
  • Must check the requirement of any specific qualification / accreditation / training needed to perform the activities at site.
  • H&S Coordinators to arrange a H&S meeting on site to discuss about the H&S safety measures which must be followed on site.
  • Attend H&S meeting on site:  Draft minutes from meetings, get the signatures of attendees.
  • Keep everyone involved educated if there is any amendment about local H&S regulation with regards to construction safety.
  • In case of accident/incident on site, an investigation report template must be fulfilled by H&S Coordinator.
  • Preventive Management, Preventive Planning, Identify and open NCR (non-conformity report).
  • Investigation of potential accidents.
  • Recommendations in case of risks or hazardous situations.
  • Participating in Health and Safety Service Audits.

Qualifications

  • Must have construction safety background and knowledge about H&S local regulations in construction safety.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
  • Bilingual French/English
  • A certification in Occupational Health and Safety would be an asset.
  • This role would require 2 visits/week (in non- consecutive days) to check the Health and Safety compliance of contractors/subcontractors on site.
  • This is a part-time contract position.
