Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Chemist to join our team. As a Senior Chemist, you will be a role-model within our analytical laboratory, ensuring compliance with defined laboratory methods, processes, and documentation. You should be self-motivated and understand the importance of advocating a no blame culture. You are required to have a strong attention to detail and the ability to prepare laboratory procedures and documentation.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in an analytical testing laboratory. Experience with oilfield water chemistry applications including ICP-OES/Chromatography and/or Gas Chromatography is desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analytical testing using various techniques and equipment
  • Follow defined laboratory methods, processes, and documentation
  • Prepare and maintain laboratory procedures and documentation
  • Analyse and interpret test results, ensuring accuracy and precision
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to laboratory testing
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve department goals and objectives
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment in the laboratory
  • Adhere to all quality and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

How to be a successful candidate:

  • HNC/D in a science-based subject or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an analytical testing laboratory
  • Experience operating to defined laboratory methods, processes, and documentation
  • Experience in the preparation of laboratory procedures and documentation
  • Degree level in a science-based subject or equivalent (desirable)
  • Oilfield laboratory experience and working with a UKAS accredited laboratory (desirable)
  • Formal audit qualification
  • Full, current, and valid UK driving licence
