Job Description
The Technical Writer is responsible for writing protocols, reports, client methods, and other technical documentation for the department. Performs peer review of the data while writing the report. Ensures all data packages are completed and ready for Quality Assurance upon completion of the project. Additional responsibilities include being a resource for testing in the lab and troubleshooting methods at the instrument.
Job Functions
- Working with the Laboratory Manager and lab personnel, writes or reviews protocols and test plans for method development, feasibility, transfer, verification and validation projects.
- Write or review technical reports for method development, feasibility, transfer, verification, and validation projects
- Review and write client methods and guidelines for routine sample analysis
- Performs peer review instrumentation data prior to sending data to Quality Assurance as needed for projects
- Ensures full compliance with the company’s Health and Safety Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct Policies
- Maybe assigned to perform a routine test, special or ad hoc projects as business demands
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related discipline (Required)
- 2+ years of related analytical experience (Required)
- Master’s degree in Chemistry or related discipline in combination with the experience listed above (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Language Skills: English – Intermediate level (Required)
- Knowledge of another language (Preferred)
- Mathematical Skills: Intermediate level (Required)
- Knowledge of statistical analysis (Preferred)
- Reasoning Skills/Abilities: Intermediate level (Required)
- General knowledge of Chemistry and routine and non-routine testing methods and methodologies (Required)
- Understanding of cGMP regulations (Required)
- Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to work well with others and independently (Required)
- Must be capable of working with persons from diverse backgrounds (Required)
- Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail (Required)
- Highly organized, have excellent planning skills, and be capable of multitasking to meet required deadlines (Required)
- Ability to focus on critical tasks and prioritize (Required)
